Create an Effective Lost/Found ListingMake sure to include your name and telephone number or e-mail address. The message board includes a search function, so you should use common words people might use to identify the pet.
Use breed names, color, etc., and don't abbreviate "lost" or "found". Include information that will help someone recognize the animal, such as: Sex, Color, Hair Length, Temperment. Size is best compared to popular pets "about the size of: chihuahua/cocker spaniel/labrador/great dane." You can include details in the Subject of the message.
Something else to think about - If you find your pet, or if someone has claimed the pet you posted, please visit the messageboard and post a response to your original message. Please let people know that this works!! Pictures? If you have a website and can display the picture on your webpage: List the url in the provided box when you post a message, and the picture will be displayed when someone views your listing. The file format of photo should be a gif or jpg, and filesize should NOT be larger than 40k. If you DO NOT have a website you can e-mail a digital picture as an attachment (the file format of photo should be a gif or jpg, and filesize should NOT be larger than 40k) to the GVH Webmaster, or hand deliver a photo to Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital.
